One of the longest running winter trade show and swap meets sponsored by the Mid-State Kart Club (MSKC) of Springfield, IL has changed the location and date for 2012. After a very successful sold-out show in January of 2011, MSKC officials have decided to move the show to the 39,000 square feet Orr Building at the Illinois State Fairgrounds on January 27 and 28 of 2012. The new location will allow for an increased number of vendor and swap booths. This show will potentially be one of the largest sprint kart oriented trade shows in the United States. Last year’s show had new sprint karts on display from manufacturers such as Margay, Merlin, Corsa, Arrow, Birel, Monza, Tony Kart, Kart Mini, PCR Alonzo and Kosmic. With the new venue, there will be room for many more vendors and swap booths.
Proceeds from the show will benefit the Mid-State Kart Club and allow them to make track repairs and upgrades to the club owned facility, Mid-State Raceway.
The Illinois State Fairgrounds located in Springfield, Illinois is easy to access off of Interstate-55 and the Orr Building has a large loading door that was not available at the previous location. The vendor area for new equipment will be located in a separate area from the swap booths. The swap booths will be available for $30 for a 10’ by 10’ booth. The show will also offer a seminar area for vendors or organizations to discuss their products and services. The two day show will begin on Friday evening January 27 and will continue into Saturday January 28 for both vendor and swap booths. Setup time will be available on Friday afternoon. Swap booths will also be allowed to setup Saturday morning.
This show will provide a rare opportunity to see many of the new 2012 kart racing chassis models all in one location along with many new and used kart parts for sale.
